After a successful career in fashion, Nicole Gios discovered a material that would change her life completely : CLAY.
Clay is for her an outstanding way to express her feelings.
She uses the imperfect, naked man as a starting point .
This gives her sculptures their unique expression and character.
She has a great liking for big size sculptures which are great for gardens and natural environments.
Starting from a massive block of clay she finalizes a form by scraping and carving.
The final sculpture is then hollowed, scooped and finally, if necessary, coloured by the use of engobe and oxides before putting it into the oven.
